Greenhouse Propagation 101
February 10 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm$40.00
This event is especially for Garden Club members in Redmond and Sisters and Black Butte. Starting plants in a greenhouse is one of the best ways to get ahead of the short growing season and hard frosts here in Central Oregon – and still have produce in the fall and throughout the summer. In addition, with a greenhouse, gardeners can often grow some additional long growing season and warmer weather fruits and vegetables that need those warm nights that we don’t have her in our area like cantaloupe, watermelon and often tomatoes too. Finally, your family will love your starting all those seedlings in a greenhouse rather than on every horizontal surface in your home, and your cat will not tip over so many seedlings causing you to start over yet again. This class reviews good propagation techniques for success in starting seeds, soils, soil blocks, growing seedlings, soils, temperatures and seed choices. Join TGM staff for this event whether you have a greenhouse or not because part of the class will be the chance to start your seeds here in TGM greenhouses. Cost includes seeds or bring your own, soils and two seeding trays of 144 total plants. You get a month of space for your seedlings here at TGM!
